Gulfstream Breaks Ground on New Expansion Project

A conceptual drawing of the future expansion of the Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. service center at Barnes Regional Airport in Westfield.WESTFIELD – Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. will formally break ground Friday on the $20 million expansion of its facility at Barnes Regional Airport.
Gulfstream will build a 100,000-square-foot maintenance facility adjacent to its 85,000-square-foot facility at Barnes. The company said it expects the growth to result in 100 additional Gulfstream jobs.
Representatives from Gulfstream, the state and the city will take part in the event at 12:30 p.m.
Gulfstream’s Westfield facility is primarily an aircraft maintenance operation. It is certified on large-cabin and mid-sized Gulfstream aircraft, as well as Hawker, Falcon and Challenger aircraft.

Noise Mitigation Program April 2012 Update

We are now in the process of modifying 16 more homes under Phase II of the Noise Mitigation Program. Work should be completed by this summer. In addition, we will be purchasing another 3 homes for that will be scheduled for demolition. This fall, Phase III is scheduled to begin in late September pending FAA funding. During that phase we hope to modify 19 existing homes and buy out another 3 for demolition.
To date, Phase I produced 16 modified homes, 3 homes were purchased and demolished, two on Dry Bridge Road and one on Deep Woods Drive.
For further information regarding purchase prices, valuation or any other public record inquiries, City Hall can provide that information through the Assessors Office or the Registry of Deeds.
